Advisory Council![]() Advisory Council at the Russian Gas Society provides scientific and advisory-and-legal support to the RGS activity. The Advisory Council was established in order to provide qualified advisory and analytical support to the RGS activity, to form science-based proposals for gas industry development.
The main objectives of the Advisory Council are as follows:
- Development of proposals and recommendations to improve the legislative basis of the gas industry. - Analysis, scientific developmental work and expert and advisory assistance by RGS in preparation of opinions on draft laws, other regulatory legal acts and amendments thereto. - Integrated expert examination of concepts, programs, and other documents submitted for RGS’s review.
More than 300 key experts and professionals of the oil and gas industry are involved in the working groups, including representatives of: Gazprom, its subsidiaries (Mezhregiongaz, Gazpromregiongaz etc.), independent gas companies (NOVATEK, NGK ITERA, TNK-ÂÐ), oil producing companies (NK Rosneft, Sibneft, Lukoil, NK Yukos etc.), relevant Ministries and Agencies (Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Industry and Energy, Federal Communication Agency, and Federal Transport Service of Russia), scientific, design engineering and consulting organizations (INEI of the Russian Academy of Science, VNIIGAZ, NIIgazeconomika, GiproNIIgaz-MP etc.), as well as non-profit partnerships operating in the gas sphere (Sojuzgaz, KRG).
The working groups are preparing RGS’s special task programs, discussion of the most urgent issues of gas industry operation improvement in order to form a consolidated opinion of the gas business community, submission of opinions and proposals to legislative authorities, relevant Ministries and Agencies by the industry experts.
